Workshop Learning Objectives  

  • Increased understanding of the CCR IEP 5 Step Beliefs and Five Step Process and how to use them to develop IEPs
  • Application of Steps 1, 2 and 3 of the Five Step Process (Understand student Achievement, Identify Effects of Disability and Disability-Related Needs, and Develop IEP goals) so they can develop IEPs designed to improve access, engagement, and progress for students with IEPs
  • Identify strategies to use in preparing for and participating in IEP team meetings.
  • Increased awareness of CCR-IEP resources available to support the development of CCR-IEPs

Preparation for the Workshop

Prior to attending, participants are encouraged to review each of the Five Step Process Webinars or other resources (e.g. at a glance documents, videos) available on the WI DPI CCR IEP web page

In addition, participants are strongly encouraged to attend in groups of at least two from the same district.   Each participant must bring a copy of a student’s IEP* to use as reference or have access to an IEP online to use during the training.
