Arts Educators Professional Day of Learning (Standards and Assessment) (Rms 1/2)

The fine arts are essential components of a quality, comprehensive education.

Music, Theatre, and Dance are all areas of the Arts that have new standards recently adopted by the WI State Superintendent. The Art and Design standards are currently in draft form, receiving public comment prior to revision and adoption.

Participants of this one-day workshop will be guided through their respective standards by Wisconsin DPI Arts and Creativity Education Consultant, Julie Palkowski. All participants will have an opportunity to navigate standards, see accompanying resources online, and share ideas for implementation into the classroom.

The afternoon session will include a review of arts assessment strategies, methods of data collection, and additional application in the arts.

Please bring your laptop or tablet with you for this workshop.
Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

Audience: Teachers of music, theater, dance, and art and design and curriculum directors
Cost: $25 for School Improvement Members
          $75 for Non-School Improvement Members
