Dates: October 9, 2019
Time: 8:30 am -3:00 pm (check-in is 8:00 a.m.)
Location: CESA 7
Session Topics: This professional development is designed for new evaluators of teachers and provides an introduction to the policies, procedures, and practices embedded in Wisconsin’s Educator Effectiveness System. The training includes practical coaching tips and supports for ensuring a strong implementation of EE practices at the school level.
Intended Outcomes:
- Understand the theory and practices that underpin the WI EE System;
- Connect theory to practical knowledge that supports effective EE leadership practices; and
- Analyze the connections between teacher evaluation and the principal’s practice as a building leader.
“Schools that increased their teachers’ use of Educator Effectiveness feedback in just one way (e.g., trying new instructional strategies in classrooms or seeking professional development opportunities based on principal feedback) improved their student achievement percentile school ranking 8 percentage points. This growth equates to the impact of adding 22 additional instructional days in the school year. In schools where teachers historically used feedback more AND increased feedback use, student achievement improved at a level comparable to adding 37 days of instruction.
