Solidifying a Guaranteed and Viable Curriculum Series

Overview:  Districts could participate in any/all of the days in the series.  This work will use the PLC collaborative structure to create curriculum that guarantees learning for all.  This series is intended for teams* who have not yet engaged in this work within a content area OR for districts who may want to revisit one or more of the elements as part of their curriculum cycle/process.

  • Day 1 (Sept. 18): What is a GVC and Prioritizing Standards

  • Day 2 (Oct. 4): Depth of Knowledge and Unpacking Standards

  • Day 3 (Nov. 4): Creating Proficiency Rubrics

  • Days 4 and 5 (Dec. 10 and 11): Creating Common Assessments

  • Day 6 (March 30): Creating Essential Questions and Enduring Understandings

  • Day 7 and 8 (summer 2020): Creating Curriculum Guides/Unit Plans


Individuals: $150/day or $1,100 for series

Groups of 4 or more: $100/day or $700 for series
All registrations will appear as $150 per day.  Applicable discounts will be applied at the time of invoicing).  

*Teams: Collaborative teams of content area teachers.  We also welcome instructional leaders (coaches, administrators, etc.).

Participant Cancellation Policy: You must contact CESA #4 to cancel attendance one week prior to the scheduled event. CESA #4 will only provide full refund of registration fees depending on individual circumstances. Refunds depend upon the ability of CESA #4 to cancel any financial obligations created by the registration such as meals, materials, etc. CESA #4 reserves the right to cancel any workshop due to insufficient enrollment. Participants will be notified by e-mail or phone if a workshop is cancelled. If a participant is a 'no show' the school will be billed for the registration fee, or loss of the 'free' attendance slot.

Weather Conditions: If a workshop has been cancelled due to weather conditions, every effort will be made to reschedule the workshop. If weather conditions are questionable, please call CESA #4 Voice Mail at (608) 786-4800; Toll Free (800) 514-3075. A message will be posted regarding workshop weather cancellations.

Other Helpful Hints: Room temperatures vary from one workshop location to another, so bring a jacket or sweater for maximum comfort.

Accommodations: If you need an accommodation to participate including interpreter services (sign language or other spoken language) please email the workshop contact to set up these services. A two-week notice is appreciated.
