Youth Mental Health First Aid teaces you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders.  This 8 hour training gives adults who work with youth the kills they need to reach out and provide initial support to adolescents (ages 12-18) who may be developing a mental health or substance use probelm and help connect them to the appropraite care.

What is covered:

1. Common signs and symptoms of mental illnesses in this age group, including:

• Anxiety
• Depression
• Eating disorders
• Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)

2. Common signs and symptoms of substance use

3. How to interact with an adolescent in crisis

4. How to connect the adolescent with help

Early Bird Registration Fee: $60 (Register two weeks prior to the event)

General Registration Fee : $75

***Trainings with fewer than 15 registrations one week prior to the training date will be canceled

Cancellation Policy:

Any registration cancellation must be received by the registration deadline date stated on the event for a refund to be issued. Persons registering and not in attendance on the day of the session will be charged the full registration fee (substitutions are accepted). CESA 12 reserves the right to cancel any session due to insufficient enrollment. Participants will be notified by email or phone if a cancellation occurs.

Weather conditions:

If a workshop has been canceled due to weather conditions, every effort will be made to reschedule the workshop. Participants will be notified via email through myQuickReg.com if a cancellation occurs. Please make sure all your contact information is correct on myQuickReg.com
