Meeting 1: “Painting En Plein Air”

This workshop will get you outdoors and painting with zest! Field composition, editing & techniques in pastel will be covered, as well as practical tips on materials and information for framing finished pieces. While not aimed at specific grade levels, these strategies can be easily adapted to fit individual teachers’ classroom needs.

Participants will be asked to bring items (i.e. chair and easel) in order to work within an outdoor environment. Also, in case of bad weather, an alternate indoor location will be announced as the date nears. Please watch your email for a supplies list and bad-weather location details!  

Participants will also have networking time to discuss local concerns and successes. 

Location: CESA 8 (Participants will meet at CESA 8 and then travel by personal vehicle to a local, outdoor location.)

Cost: $100 per participant, per workshop, for CIA Member School Districts; lunch will be provided 
$200 per person, per participant for non-member districts; lunch will be provided

Participants will have the option of buying additional supplies from the artist the day of the event

CANCELLATION POLICY: Any registration cancellation must be received 7 days prior to the scheduled date to receive a refund or avoid invoicing. CESA 8 will only provide full refund of registration fees depending on individual circumstances. Refunds depend upon the ability of CESA 8 to cancel any financial obligations created by the registration such as meals, materials, etc. Registered participants not in attendance on the day of the session will be charged the full registration fee. DIETARY ACCOMMODATIONS: Due to varied dietary restrictions, CESA 8 cannot guarantee that all special dietary accommodations can be met.
