Sonday System® 2 Training

This training will build on the Multisensory Teaching Methodology introduced in Sonday System 1. This training offers hands-on use of the materials and practical strategies to use with struggling students. Focus is on Syllable Types, Syllable Division, Prefixes, Suffixes with Governing Rules, Roots, Contractions, Non-Phonetic Words, Vocabulary and Comprehension.
Materials: Sonday System® 2 kits are the training materials. Attendees are required to bring their Sonday System 2 kit to the training. (Click here to purchase Sonday System products.)
To learn more about the Sonday System®, please go to the website. The Sonday System® - Reading Intervention Solutions for Pre K-12 - is a suite of Orton Gillingham multi-sensory language instruction products. The Sonday System is direct instruction for struggling readers in Tier 2 (“strategic”), especially Tier 3 (“intensive”), Dyslexic, ESL/ELL, and students with Learning Disabilities.
The Sonday System has distinguished itself for:
- Ease of implementation, even for instructors with little or no background in literacy
- Effectiveness with students who have not responded to other programs
- Success at all ages for students who are significantly behind in reading, writing and spelling.
Cost: No charge to CESA 10 Professional Development member school districts; $100 to non-member districts.
