NEW SciN Network Meetings 2018-19
November 15, 2019 - 9AM – 3:00 PM
February 11, 2020 - 9AM – 3:00 PM
April 2, 2020 9:00  - AM – 3:00 PM

At each meeting:

• Hands-on activity focusing on explicitly teaching/scaffolding Science and Engineering Practices (SEPs)
• Connecting life science, physical science, and Earth and space science through the Crosscutting Concepts (CCC)
• Breakout sessions for life science, physical science, Earth and space science collaboration
• Grade-level breakout sessions
• Sharing best practice
• Sharing materials
• Extending content learning

Planned Events and Resources:

• Wisconsin elementary science teacher-leaders sharing their expertise
• Science demonstrations you can use in the classroom!
• Local business leaders who hire science majors to talk about the type of work/careers available at different degree levels
• Content learning with invited experts in life science, physical science, and Earth and space science
• Update from the state science leader on current state policy and national trends
• Evaluating NGSS-aligned materials/units/lessons

Each date is an individual workshop and must be registered for separately 

Cost: $100 per person, per meeting, for CESA 8-CIA Member School Districts. $200 per person, per meeting, for all others. 
 

 

CANCELLATION POLICY: Any registration cancellation must be received 7 days prior to the scheduled date to receive a refund or avoid invoicing. CESA 8 will only provide full refund of registration fees depending on individual circumstances. Refunds depend upon the ability of CESA 8 to cancel any financial obligations created by the registration such as meals, materials, etc. Registered participants not in attendance on the day of the session will be charged the full registration fee. CESA 8 reserves the right to cancel any session due to insufficient enrollment or inclement weather. Participants will be notified via email through myQuickReg.com if a cancellation occurs. DIETARY ACCOMMODATIONS: Due to varied dietary restrictions, CESA 8 cannot guarantee that all special dietary accommodations can be met. CESA 8 makes every effort to accommodate basic dietary restrictions with advance notice, but please plan accordingly.
