Online and asynchronous learning opportunity for educators who are looking for ways to close achievement gaps in mathematics. This course will utilize Google Classroom as a way to create learning modules for educators to access content designed to enhance their mathematical strategies and practices.

The five monthly learning sessions include:
Module 1: "Setting the Stage" Participants will learn about data usage, dig into their own student data, identify achievement gaps, and create goals for the school year. (October)
Module 2: "Teaching With an Instructional Framework" Participants will explore the LESRA Mathematics Instructional Framework. (November)
Module 3: "Utilizing Mathematical Practices" Participants will dig into the mathematical practices and uncover new and exciting ways to incorporate them into daily lessons. (December/January)
Module 4: "Keeping Students Engaged in Mathematics" Participants will learn new and high-leverage mathematical strategies to use right away. (February)
Module 5: "Curtain Call" Participants will reflect on their learning and develop a culminating project to identify action steps. (March)

Target Audience: Teachers, math coaches, Title 1 staff and administrators

Registration Fee: $0 (made possible through a CESA Foundation Grant)

Registration Deadline: September 30, 2019 (registered participants will receive instructions on September 30th via email.)

WES4The teacher understands and uses a variety of instructional strategies, including the use of technology to encourage children’s development of critical thinking, problem solving, and performance skills.
WES5The teacher uses an understanding of individual and group motivation and behavior to create a learning environment that encourages positive social interaction, active engagement in learning, and self-motivation.
WES8The teacher understands and uses formal and informal assessment strategies to evaluate and ensure the continuous intellectual, social, and physical development of the pupil.

Cancellation Policy:

Any registration cancellation must be received one business day prior to the event date for a refund to be issued. Persons registering and not in attendance on the day of the session will be charged the full registration fee (substitution are accepted). CESA 12 reserves the right to cancel any session due to insufficient enrollment. Participants will be notified by email or phone if a cancellation occurs.
