Need valuable, ready to use strategies for teaching your EL's? This guided demonstration workshop will combine research with ready to use strategies for sheltering your instruction with English learners. Get ready for an amazing 2 days of engaging strategies you can immediately use with your English learners.
Objectives
- Understand the 8 SIOP components.
- Practice the features of SIOP lesson plans.
- Implement SIOP into lesson plans.
This event is free to CESA 4 Title III Consortium Members and $150.00 for Non-Consortium members. The fee includes materials and breakfast - Lunch will be on your own each day.
About the Presenter:
Tere Masiarchin has been working in the field of ESOL with teachers, administrators, and students since 1999. She has been an ESL K-12 Teacher, a family literacy teacher, and ESL/Bilingual Program Director.
Tere is the Director of the Language and Culture Center at CESA #2. The Language and Culture Center provides ELL & Bilingual support to districts through professional development, online resources, and in-district ESL & Bilingual teachers.
Tere is passionate about making professional development practical for classroom teachers, so the tools acquired can be immediately incorporated into the classroom. Tere has been a teacher and knows your time is valuable!
Participant Cancellation Policy:
You must contact CESA 4 to cancel attendance one week prior to the scheduled event unless otherwise stated in the individual event details. CESA 4 will only provide full refund of registration fees depending on individual circumstances. Refunds depend upon the ability of CESA 4 to cancel any financial obligations created by the registration such as meals, materials, etc. CESA 4 reserves the right to cancel any workshop due to insufficient enrollment. Participants will be notified by e-mail or phone if a workshop is cancelled. If a participant is a 'no show' the school will be billed for the registration fee, or loss of the 'free' attendance slot.
Dietary Restrictions:
Because of the number of meals served, number of ingredients used, and food product changes from vendors, we cannot guarantee dietary restrictions as indicated in a user's myQuickReg profile will be accommodated. Participants with dietary restrictions such as food allergies should plan to bring their own refreshments.
Weather Conditions:
If a workshop has been cancelled due to weather conditions, every effort will be made to reschedule the workshop. If weather conditions are questionable, please call CESA 4 Voice Mail at (608) 786-4800; Toll Free (800) 514-3075. A message will be posted regarding workshop weather cancellations.
Additional Accommodations:
