This 2-day learning event is based on math learning trajectories (Clements & Sarama, 2014) and will provide participants the opportunity to learn playful, child-centered, and developmentally appropriate instructional practices that will nurture young children’s curiosity and joy of mathematics.
SESSION 1: This session will provide participants hands-on strategies to support young mathematicians’ development of counting, subitizing, and number (quantity) recognition skills, including place value, skip counting, addition, and the four number relationships.
SESSION 2: This session will dive deeper into the four number relationships and how to help young learner’s leverage this relationship during instruction. This session will also provide activities to promote geometric and spatial thinking skills.
Audience: Pre-K through Grade 2 service providers and staff

Time: 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM - Registration & light breakfast at 8:00 AM
Location: CESA 5, 626 E Slifer St, Portage, WI (Main Conference Room)
