Join the CESA 6 Educator Leadership & Coaching Collaborative Series to learn powerful practices and acquire new coaching techniques. Instruction by national and international experts, teamwork, and networking within this professional series will hone the skills necessary to effectively leverage teacher-leader passions and expertise to guide change, build resilience, and increase student achievement.


OCTOBER 7 & NOVEMBER 5, 2019
TODD WHITAKER: LEADING SCHOOL CHANGE

Todd will kick off the series with a focus on Leading School Change. Cheerleaders for innovation or change must implement specific strategies to increase the likelihood of success. We’ll learn how to work effectively with others, overcome resistance, and gain widespread acceptance. Todd’s day 2 webinar will focus on step-by-step actions to bring about desired change. He will help us discover clear ways to lead and manage school change by setting realistic goals, planning approaches, and tracking progress in order to make  immediate, results-oriented, supported change.

AM sessions

  • Todd will join the group virtually for a live, 2-hour webinar packed full of relevant leadership and coaching content and high quality learning activities;
  • Participants will engage in PRE & POST activities, lead by the CESA 6 team, to maximize participation, reflection and growth.

PM sessions

  • Participants will engage in self-chosen breakout sessions to dig deeper into Todd’s content by connecting topic content to coaching practices.
  • Participants will engage in whole group PRE & POST activities to maximize participation, reflection and growth.

DIANE SWEENEY: LEADING STUDENT - CENTERED COACHING

Diane Sweeney’s sectional will focus on Student-Centered Coaching. She will prepare us with the background, practices, and tools required for a coaching program to be based upon thoughtfulness, leadership, and a team approach. Her first webinar will emphasize how to connect school improvement to coaching, defining roles for coach and principal, and setting teacher expectations for participation in coaching.  In January, Diane will advise us on how to foster a school culture which can be leveraged by your coaching program, drive high quality instruction, and how to separate coaching from supervision.

FEBRUARY 3 & MARCH 2, 2020
JANET BAIRD: ONWARD

The third, and final sectional of the 2019-2020 series will feature Janet Baird. Be prepared to dive into the habits and dispositions of a resilient educator as outlined in Onward. You will learn how to recognize entry points to building resilience in individuals and in organizations, and will practice doing so. Janet will lead us on an exploration of where in the cycle of an emotion empowering stories happen, what is possibly holding us back from telling empowering stories, and what specific strategies will help to expand our stories to cultivate resilience. Discover the role that the disposition of optimism plays cultivating resilience.

Cancellation policy: Any registration cancellation must be received at least 8 business days before the sectional in order for a full refund to be issued. Registration cancellations received 1-7 business days before a sectional, a refund, minus $50 per participant, will be issued. Persons who are registered, but not in attendance on the day of a meeting ("no call, no show") will be responsible for the full registration fee, no refunds. CESA 6 reserves the right to cancel any event due to insufficient enrollment. Participants will be notified by email if a cancellation occurs.
