Training 1: Introduction to Mentoring Essentials

September 25, 2019—9AM—3PM

This training provides mentors with specific skills, strategies, and tools needed to successfully mentor a new colleague.

 

This training emphasizes the following basic principles:

· A period of induction is important for all new educators.

· A common vision is important to define effective educator
practices.

· The professional relationship between the new educator and the mentor is critical to the success of the induction program.

· New educator’s attitudes and professional practice are dynamic; effective mentors align their support to educator needs.

· Effective mentoring includes crucial conversations about improving professional practice.

· Mentors help provisional educators reflect and develop professional goals

Cost: $25 per person, per workshop for CESA 8 School  Districts. $50 per person, per workshop, for all others

Training 2: Professional Conversations
November 21, 2019—9AM—3PM

The approach to and language used in mentoring conversations can foster trust and support learning-centered environments! This training provides mentors with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to support beginning teacher growth through ongoing, formative, instructionally-focused feedback.

Cost: $25 per person, per workshop for CESA 8 School  Districts. $50 per person, per workshop, for all others

Workshop fees will be waived if we receive the 2019-20 Peer Review and Mentoring Grant  from the Wisconsin Department of Public

CANCELLATION POLICY: Any registration cancellation must be received 7 days prior to the scheduled date to receive a refund or avoid invoicing. CESA 8 will only provide full refund of registration fees depending on individual circumstances. Refunds depend upon the ability of CESA 8 to cancel any financial obligations created by the registration such as meals, materials, etc. Registered participants not in attendance on the day of the session will be charged the full registration fee. CESA 8 reserves the right to cancel any session due to insufficient enrollment or inclement weather. Participants will be notified via email through myQuickReg.com if a cancellation occurs. DIETARY ACCOMMODATIONS: Due to varied dietary restrictions, CESA 8 cannot guarantee that all special dietary accommodations can be met.
