What captures the interest of students? FOOD!

Yes, food can be used to engage students inquiry-based science — really!
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in collaboration with the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA) have created Science and Our Food Supply, an innovative, interactive supplementary curriculum for use in middle & high school family & consumer science classes.

During this one day workshop, teachers will have the opportunity to participate in food science experiments, explore food safety issues, and become familiar with the lessons and activates in the Science and our Food Supply Curriculum.

Presenter: Linda Dykstra

Registration Fee: FREE!
Every teacher who participates in this workshop will also receive a FREE Science and Our Food curriculum.

Register before April 19, 2019. This workshop is limited to 16 participants.

Cancellation Policy: Registered participants will receive a full refund if they cancel before 10 working days before an event, minus any material costs that have already been incurred. Because of our commitment to the trainer and the food vendor, participants who cancel less than 10 working days or do not attend, will be billed the full fee. CESA 5 reserves the right to cancel any event. Registered participants will be notified via email if a cancellation occurs and will receive a full refund. Inclement weather policy: Every effort will be made to hold an event. CESA 5 will notify participants via email as soon as possible if an event has been canceled due to weather conditions.
