Sensible Sustainability for our Schools
June 25-26, 2019 | 9 AM-3 PM (each day)

Audience: K-12 Educators, Food Service Staff, and Custodial Staff
Is there anything that I can do to promote a “Seventh Generation” mindset in my school?
How can we start sustainable solutions in our school? Have you wondered about the amount of recyclables that are thrown out each day? How about the food waste? Is there anything that I can do to promote a “Seventh Generation” mindset in my school? The answer to that is, “YES”!
Join our guest presenter, Joe Cook of Sparta, as he guides you step-by-step through the growing pains of promoting sound, sustainable solutions to making your campus greener. Joe will provide proven examples of conservation-minded work that has been done in the Sparta High School over the last decade. Along with sharing, discussing, and brainstorming, he will offer suggestions and ideas on how you can initiate sustainable solutions in your schools. Day two of this will have the participants visit Sparta High School to view the Ecovim food dehydrator and nutrient storage facility which have been on campus for the past three years. If you are interested in lowering your school’s negative impact on the environment and how to reduce taxpayer expense on the little things we take for granted, this think-tank gathering is for any educator, K-12, as well as food service and custodial personnel. Participant Cancellation Policy:
You must contact CESA 4 to cancel attendance one week prior to the scheduled event unless otherwise stated in the individual event details. CESA 4 will only provide full refund of registration fees depending on individual circumstances. Refunds depend upon the ability of CESA 4 to cancel any financial obligations created by the registration such as meals, materials, etc. CESA 4 reserves the right to cancel any workshop due to insufficient enrollment. Participants will be notified by e-mail or phone if a workshop is cancelled. If a participant is a 'no show' the school will be billed for the registration fee, or loss of the 'free' attendance slot.
Dietary Restrictions:
Because of the number of meals served, number of ingredients used, and food product changes from vendors, we cannot guarantee dietary restrictions as indicated in a user's myQuickReg profile will be accommodated. Participants with dietary restrictions such as food allergies should plan to bring their own refreshments.
Weather Conditions:
If a workshop has been cancelled due to weather conditions, every effort will be made to reschedule the workshop. If weather conditions are questionable, please call CESA 4 Voice Mail at (608) 786-4800; Toll Free (800) 514-3075. A message will be posted regarding workshop weather cancellations.
Additional Accommodations:
If you need an accommodation to participate including interpreter services (sign language or other spoken language) please email the workshop contact to set up these services. A two-week notice is appreciated.
