Portrait of a Graduate

Leadership Strategies for 'Framing your Portrait'

A ‘portrait of a graduate’ (PoG) is helping to shape a ‘broader definition of success’ across schools and communities.  As we all know that students are ‘more than a number’, we also know that collectively changing the narrative about ‘school success’ is a task that requires leadership, strategic planning, and stakeholder alignment.

The Portrait of a Graduate: Design. Position. Perform. leadership event shares 6 leadership actions to frame this important work and align efforts
towards the development and realization of a shared ‘portrait of a graduate’.

Design: Learn the indicators of
a quality PoG. Design a custom DRAFT* of a PoG for your organization/school/classroom.  Position the PoG to become a powerful navigation tool to map and guide the creation of powerful learning experiences.

Position: Position a PoG as the starting line to create ‘design forward’ learning experiences.  Ensure credibility and coherence around educational improvement efforts as a PoG serves as both a navigation tool as well as an outcome (shared vision).

Perform: Once created and aligned, performance is measured beyond traditional benchmarks as defined by a dynamic and powerful ‘profile of a graduate’ (PoG).  If done well by teams, and fully brought to life inside of schools, we will see that as students learn today, they will see themselves positioned as being ‘ready’ for their tomorrow.

Who should attend?

District/School/Classroom Leaders who are investing in the power of personalized learner centered practices and want experiences that develop greater student Ownership Agency and Responsibility (O.A.R.).
