There are many iPod/iPad apps to use with students with special needs, but before you start using apps with students, you need to know how to manage and use your device. This “basics” workshop will show you how to set up and use an iPod/iPad. Resources for finding apps for students with special needs and other media such as podcasts, books and music will be shared. This overview will include General and Accessibility settings, iTunes management of apps, music, podcasts and iTunes U. Apps for AAC, social skills, literacy, math, data collection, behavior management, music, songs, art and games will be shared and shown. Participants should bring an iPod/iPad if possible. If you want to download any of the free (or paid) apps, you must have an iTunes account set up. Some devices (iPad &/or iPod Touch) are available to use on a "first come, first served" basis. Please contact Judi Cumley (cumleyj@cesa5.k12.wi.us) if you need to borrow a device for the training.
