The previous six months have been an unprecedented time in modern education.  School closures have widened the achievement gap for middle and high school readers and writers.  Many students have stopped reading and writing. Join Kelly to learn strategic steps to take and tools to use to re-engage adolescent readers and writers.

TIMES (all dates):

  • Writers Virtual Sessions: 8:00 - 9:30 A.M.
  • Break: 9:30 - 10:00 A.M.
  • Readers Virtual Sessions: 10:00 - 11:30 A.M.


REGISTRATION FEE: $175 for one series (choose the writers or readers series)
                                $325 for both series

CESA 6 CANCELLATION POLICY

Any registration cancellation must be received at least 8 business days prior to the start of the series in order for a full refund to be issued. Registration cancellations received 1-7 business days prior to the series start, a refund will be issued minus $50 per participant.  No refunds will be given for persons who are registered, but not in attendance on the day of any session. CESA 6 reserves the right to cancel an event due to insufficient enrollment. Participants will be notified by email if a cancellation occurs.

He is the former co-director of the South Basin Writing Project at California State University, Long Beach, and the former president of the Secondary Reading Group for the International Literacy Association. Kelly is the author of several books, including 180 Days: Two Teachers and the Quest to Engage and Empower Adolescents (coauthored with Penny Kittle)Readicide and Write Like This.
