Featuring PBIS and equity leaders from the local to national level

We’re live streaming the 2019 PBIS Leadership Conference from the Kalahari Conference Center in Wisconsin Dells right to your local CESA! Benefits include the ability to ask presenters your questions during the session, collaborate with colleagues, get useful strategies you can implement today and much more! Here’s the lineup:

Keynote Address: Dr. Heather Peshak George Dr. George brings extensive experience in providing training and technical assistance in behavior across a continuum and variety of settings. She will share insights into the district’s role in PBIS implementation.

Five Steps to Creating Positive Environments in the Classroom (A15) | Michelle Polzin & Yuliana Manriquez Find out what PBIS looks like “in action.” You’ll learn teacher-friendly, proactive strategies that provide alternatives to traditional discipline. Participants will hear how one elementary school team helped staff develop common beliefs about discipline and empowered them to more effectively prevent and respond to student behaviors in the classroom.

Shifting the work of the PBIS team to improve implementation & sustainability (B8) | Liz Ponto & Sarah Nelson Do you want to improve the role and function of your PBIS team? In this session, both a district and a school will highlight how shifting the work of their teams has increased effectiveness in supporting implementation and sustainability. Attendees will leave this session with examples and resources. The elephant in the room: talking race in ANY space (C4) | Andreal Davis & Kathy Myles We’ll share internal and external barriers that prevent schools and districts from having meaningful conversations about race that lead to improved student outcomes. We will also share various frameworks and protocols for courageously engaging in these conversations while maintaining a safe, respectful, and professional environment that values your willingness to move past discomfort to engagement and action.

Here is what your peers said about last year’s live-stream event experience!
