When all teachers in a school focus on the same academic vocabulary and teach in the same way, the school has a powerful comprehensive approach that will affect student learning. During this workshop, teachers will examine the research behind direct vocabulary, learn strategies for instruction and understand how to evaluate students’ vocabulary learning.

  • Apply a six step process for direct instruction in vocabulary

  • Middle and high school teachers, reading specialists, literacy coaches, instructional leaders, and principals

Registration fee*: $150 per participant
* Principal's fee is just $35 when attending with at least four staff members.

Cancellation policy: Any registration cancellation must be received at least 8 business days before event in order for a full refund to be issued. Registration cancellations received 1-7 business days before an event, a refund, minus $50 for each participant, will be issued. Persons who are registered, but not in attendance on the day of the session ("no call, no show") will be charged the full registration fee. CESA 6 reserves the right to cancel any session due to insufficient enrollment. Participants will be notified by email if a cancellation occurs.
