From Paragraph to Essay: Developing Composition Skills

Join us as we unpack the cognitive demands placed on student writers and unwrap the skills students must have in order to write successfully. Through gradual release, participants in this workshop learn a structured, sequential approach to teaching the basic and expanded paragraph and develop strategies to assist their students with writing responses to essay prompts and topics. Participants will learn a systematic, straightforward approach to developing introductory, supporting, and concluding para-graphs, and develop strategies for tackling the most difficult components of writing for students.
