Explore the benefits of building successful co-teaching partnerships at this two day event.
Increased achievement for all students is dependent upon solid universal classroom learning structures. Co-teaching is one collaborative structure that supports the successful incorporation of diverse student populations into our classrooms. Co-teaching promotes shared responsibilities in the areas of differentiation, universal design for learning (UDL), and accommodations appropriate to grade level learning targets.
Discussions and activities with Tracy Elger will focus on topics such as:
- Developing, assessing and sustaining co-teaching practices at the building and district levels.
- Understanding the relationships between co-teaching, response to intervention (RtI) and differentiation of instruction.
- Implementing a variety of co-teaching role options.
- Appreciating the expertise that each team member brings to a partnership.
- Developing a co-teaching vision between partners; planning as co-teaching partners.
$125/person or $175/team (team=1 regular ed. teacher and 1 special ed. teacher). Each person must be registered . Please make note of who your team member is so that the fee may be adjusted.
Participants are encouraged to attend with current and/or potential co-teaching partners. It is also highly recommended that school administrators attend with their teacher teams for a fee of $40. Please email Kari Todryk, todrykk@cesa5.org, if you would like to do this.
