Academic and Career Planning (ACP) Focus Group Meeting #1

The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction is asking CESA regions around the state to form ACP focus groups in order to collaborate and share concerns regarding ACP, including best practices for utilizing Career Cruising as an ACP instructional resource. 

Member of this focus group include any school district employee involved in the ACP planning and implementation process. Our goal at CESA 10 will include working collaboratively to begin sharing ACP curriculum and resources as a region.  Below is a list of topics to guide this important discussion as we work together to strengthen ACP practices. 

Focus Group Topics:

• Implementation Strategies for Career Cruising
• Feedback to DPI Regarding Career Cruising
• Utilizing Inspire in the ACP Process
• Sharing Best Practices with ACP
• Collaboration and Sharing ACP Curriculum
• Discussion of ACP Scope and Sequence
• Utilizing Outside Resources to Strengthen ACP

Future Focus Group Meeting Dates:

• Wednesday, January 16 from 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. (on site at CESA 10)
• Future Dates TBD (possible teleconference meetings in spring of 2019)

Mark Calendars for Other ACP Meeting Dates at CESA:

• Monday, January 7 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Topics to Include:  Course Planner components of Career Cruising, Training on Inspire, and Meeting Employer Demands for Employability Skills through Academic and Career Planning.  Julee Dredske, Wisconsin Xello Training Specialist will present during the morning of the workshop.
• Monday, March 18 OR Tuesday, March 19 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.  Training in Conjunction with Julee Dredske, Wisconsin Xello Training Specialist
• :  Duplicate sessions are offered on both March 18 & 19.  Both days will include an Introduction to Xello and Exploring College & Career Readiness Data.  Individuals should only register for one of the dates.
