Literacy behaviors and skills follow a developmental progression through stages.  These stages are neither exclusive or isolated from one another.  Literacy rich environments emphasizes the importance of speaking, listening, reading and writing.  In this workshop, our learning will focus on how to instruct and assess emergent literacy skills through a play based model.  Please join us for a day of literacy, play, engagment and collegial networking opportunities.

Learning outcomes will Include:

  • Teachers will be provided with concrete examples of how to design a Purposeful Play-based program.
  • Teachers will be able to ask qestions and collaborate with colleagues who share a similar job description.
  • Teachers will understand how to assess and meet early literacy standards within a Purposeful Play-based model.

This workshop is offered at no cost to districts participating in LS1 and Title 1 Fee For Service.  The cost for CESA 10 districts not participating in LS1 and Title 1 Fee For Service is $175 per participant.  The cost for all other participants is $300.
