Classroom Management Refresher Workshop

This workshop is designed as a "refresher training" for new and veteran educators on the principles behind effective classroom management practices.  Roger Berg and Brad Van Epps from CESA 3 will be facilitating the course.  They will be using materials adapted from PBIS and Rick Smith's book, Conscious Classroom Management.  Participants will be expected to do some outside reading and preparation between the two workshop days.  Both days of the workshop will be held at the CESA 3 office in Fennimore.

The workshop will explore a variety of topics including:

1.  Whose job is it to teach students appropriate behaviors?
2.  How do I teach appropriate classroom procedures?
3.   How do I "hold my ground" as a teacher?
4.   What is "inner authority"?
5.   How do I make positive connections with my students?
6.   What does it mean to "make positive connections" with students?
7.   Assuming the best in your students.
8.   Showing consistency in my teaching.
9.   How to establish rules and consequences?
10.   When consequences don't work.
11.   Introduction to the ABC's of behavior.
12.   Using acknowledgement systems.

This workshop will explore practical strategies for managing students in the classroom.   

Cost:  $300 for two days (includes lunch).  Free to Educator Development and Support members

Participant Cancellation Policy: You must contact CESA #3 at least one week prior to the scheduled event to cancel and receive a full refund of your registration fee. Cancellations not received at least one week prior to the registered event will be charged the full registration fee. CESA #3 reserves the right to cancel any workshop due to insufficient enrollment. Participants will be notified by e-mail or phone if a workshop is cancelled. If a participant is a 'no show' the school will be billed for the registration fee, or loss of the 'free' attendance slot.
