Description: Instructional coaches and Teacher mentors are coaching for student outcomes.  Evidence-based instructional practices are the foundation for this work along with effective coaching skills. This workshop will explore high yield instructional practices essential for inclusive classrooms and embed critical coaching skills into instructional conversations.

The four half days will will include several topics yet allow participants to add topic ideas to workshop content based on their needs.

Day 1: Building relationships and trust from both classroom and coaching perspectives.  Proactive classroom management strategies will be shared along with classroom video opportunities for coaching conversations.

Day 2: High expectations means something different to each of us.  Are we teaching to reach grade level benchmarks? Does inclusion mean full participation in classroom activities and in the classroom environment?

Day 3: Using student data to adjust, inform, and guide next steps for monitoring student progress in learning.  Are student outcomes reflective of high expectations or are there instructional practices that would enhance outcomes?

Day 4: Inclusive environments reflect visible participation and high levels of engagement with all students noticeably engaged in meaningful learning.

Coaching conversations are connected to all content and learning.  All workshop days will include some networking time to connect with coaches and mentors from other districts in CESA 2.
