Primary-grade teachers face an important challenge: teaching children how to read while supporting their developing reading identity and love of reading. Many teachers find that utilizing a Reader’s Workshop instructional framework can help meet this challenge. Sessions within this series will focus on supporting learners through a workshop approach to teaching and learning. Participants will learn methods for supporting learners through whole group, small group, and individual instructional contexts, in order to meet the diverse needs of all readers.

THIS WORKSHOP SERIES IS A GOOD FIT FOR:

Kindergarten through 2nd grade teachers using the Teachers College Reading Units of Study, reading specialists, literacy coaches, instructional leaders, and principals.


PARTICIPANTS SHOULD BRING:

  • Lucy Calkins Reading Units of Study Kit (2016) (Entire kit)


REGISTRATION FEE: $325 per participant for series

  • Includes access to online materials and resources and lunch all days.

CANCELLATION POLICY: Any registration cancellation must be received at least 8 business days before event in order for a full refund to be issued. Registration cancellations received 1-7 business days before an event, a refund, minus $50 for each participant, will be issued. Persons who are registered, but not in attendance on the day of the session ("no call, no show") will be charged the full registration fee. CESA 6 reserves the right to cancel any session due to insufficient enrollment. Participants will be notified by email if a cancellation occurs.
