Rick DuFour often said that there is no one person with enough knowledge, skill, or energy to singlehandedly lead a school or district on the PLC journey. Inherent in PLC practice is the idea of a guiding coalition to assist with this work. This year's Leadership Academy series is intended to develop school and district leaders' abilities to engage a leadership team in the work of building, deepening, and monitoring PLC practices.
Participants will be led through four learning events by Julie Schmidt, Superintendent of Kildeer Countryside SD (an Adlai Stevenson feeder school). We'll come together in October for a full day of learning at CESA #4 with Julie. She will connect with us virtually in November, return for a full day of face-to-face learning in January and wrap up with a virtual session in February.
The Leadership Academy is open to leaders from the district level down to the school level at a cost of $100 (made possible by a grant from DPI) which covers all events and materials.
Participant Cancellation Policy:
You must contact CESA 4 to cancel attendance one week prior to the scheduled event unless otherwise stated in the individual event details. CESA 4 will only provide full refund of registration fees depending on individual circumstances. Refunds depend upon the ability of CESA 4 to cancel any financial obligations created by the registration such as meals, materials, etc. CESA 4 reserves the right to cancel any workshop due to insufficient enrollment. Participants will be notified by e-mail or phone if a workshop is cancelled. If a participant is a 'no show' the school will be billed for the registration fee, or loss of the 'free' attendance slot.
Dietary Restrictions:
Because of the number of meals served, number of ingredients used, and food product changes from vendors, we cannot guarantee dietary restrictions as indicated in a user's myQuickReg profile will be accommodated. Participants with dietary restrictions such as food allergies should plan to bring their own refreshments.
Weather Conditions:
If a workshop has been cancelled due to weather conditions, every effort will be made to reschedule the workshop. If weather conditions are questionable, please call CESA 4 Voice Mail at (608) 786-4800; Toll Free (800) 514-3075. A message will be posted regarding workshop weather cancellations.
Additional Accommodations:
