Presentation Descriptions:

Getting Started with the NB Process
Participants will learn how to navigate the NB process including forms, manuals, and dates.  Registrants will be guided through the five core propositions and certificate-specific National Board for Professional Teaching standards. Participants will learn strategies to organize the work, standards-unpacking techniques, and the thinking for successful completion of each component.  This workshop also provides time for candidates to connect with other candidates going through the National Board process.

Planning Your Component 2, 3, and/or 4 Entries
Participants will receive guidance in planning the lessons they choose for components 2, component 3 and/or units with assessments for component 4. We’ll start by analyzing the questions in each component.  Participants will then work independently with support to build a unit plan which will provide the writing opportunities needed to meet the requirements of their component.

Writing for the National Board Process
Participants will learn how writing for the National Board process encompasses description, analysis, and reflection.  Registrants will leave the workshop with resources that support continued work on Component 1 constructed response questions, Component 2 Student Work Analysis, Component 3 Teaching Practice and Learning Environment, and Component 4 Effective and Reflective Practitioner entries.

Writing, Studying, and Support Workshop
This workshop will provide a dedicated space and time for candidates to work on writing and studying for Components 1, 2, 3, and 4.  Candidates will have time to network with other teachers undertaking the National Board Certification process.  A NB certified facilitator will be available for support and answer questions.

Studying for Component 1
Participants will take a virtual tour through the testing experience, learn test taking strategies, and take practice test items.  Participants will also have dedicated time to study.
