About the workshop:
Each teacher may bring up to four students to participate in the Geocaching activity. (Please list student names in the notes section upon registering). Students will explore how the GPS system works, compare the differences between using a smartphone and a geocaching unit to find geocaches, and put their knowledge to the test by finding hidden geocaches in the West Salem area. This event is funded through the 2017-18 Gifted and Talented Grant. This challenge is ideal for students in grades 4 through 10.
Free to student/teacher teams from schools within the MVGT Network (Includes Cashton, Whitehall & Wonewoc); $50 per team for non-MVGT Schools.
Morning refreshments and lunch provided.
Four students may attend with every one teacher that registers. Limit of 3 teams per district. Max of 75 people.
Participant Cancellation Policy:
You must contact CESA 4 to cancel attendance one week prior to the scheduled event unless otherwise stated in the individual event details. CESA 4 will only provide full refund of registration fees depending on individual circumstances. Refunds depend upon the ability of CESA 4 to cancel any financial obligations created by the registration such as meals, materials, etc. CESA 4 reserves the right to cancel any workshop due to insufficient enrollment. Participants will be notified by e-mail or phone if a workshop is cancelled. If a participant is a 'no show' the school will be billed for the registration fee, or loss of the 'free' attendance slot.
Dietary Restrictions:
Because of the number of meals served, number of ingredients used, and food product changes from vendors, we cannot guarantee dietary restrictions as indicated in a user's myQuickReg profile will be accommodated. Participants with dietary restrictions such as food allergies should plan to bring their own refreshments.
Weather Conditions:
If a workshop has been cancelled due to weather conditions, every effort will be made to reschedule the workshop. If weather conditions are questionable, please call CESA 4 Voice Mail at (608) 786-4800; Toll Free (800) 514-3075. A message will be posted regarding workshop weather cancellations.
Additional Accommodations:
If you need an accommodation to participate including interpreter services (sign language or other spoken language) please email the workshop contact to set up these services. A two-week notice is appreciated.
