Description:

This workshop will provide participants with an overview and understanding of the core concepts of sensory processing and emotional regulation, focusing on the unique needs of students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Participants will be able to answer the question: What is sensory processing and how do we set up the environment and provide tools for self-regulation?   Numerous tools and resources will be provided to address the sensory and emotional regulation needs of students with ASD and other social-emotional needs.

Course objectives:

? Define the various sensory systems and sensory processing differences in students with ASD.

? Identify the educational implications of sensory processing differences.

? Identify strategies/tools/methods for self-regulation.

 

Who should attend?

Education and community professionals, parents and family members who support children with ASD. Special rates available for parents/family members.

Cancellation Policy:

Any registration cancellation must be received at least 8 business days before event in order for a full conference fee refund to be issued (full refunds do not include service fees. Service fees are nonrefundable).Registration cancellations received 1-7 business days before an event, a refund, minus $50 for each participant, will be issued. Persons who are registered, but not in attendance on the day of the session ("no call, no show") will be charged the full registration fee. CESA 6 reserves the right to cancel any session due to insufficient enrollment. Participants will be notified by email if a cancellation occurs.
