How to Really Help: Trauma-Informed Tier 2 & 3 Approaches to Teaching Emotional Regulation

Betty DeBoer will briefly introduce the therapeutic ARC model for background context and will then describe how emotional regulation develops, how trauma impacts emotional regulation and other executive functioning skills, and what skills are needed to regulate emotions.

Chris Nelson will discuss how to set up a session to establish rapport and work on emotional regulation with students with trauma histories. 

Betty and Chris will describe and demonstrate selected approaches to how teachers or pupil services personnel can help students learn to identify, modulate, and appropriately express themselves.

COST: $75.00 per person for SNPD Member districts  /  $150.00 per person for non-member districts
