Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Refresher Training

A potentially violent situation is an unsettling situation for everyone involved.  The person who has “acted out” may run the gamut of emotions from fear to embarrassment.  The person who attempts to intervene is subject to tremendous stress and fear for his/her own personal safety. 

Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Training:   This refresher training is for staff that has previously received the training, and needs recertification.  Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Training will teach you skills, which allow you to do the following: identify the potential for violent or disruptive behavior; reduce tensions; prevent violent episodes; intervene safely in violent situations and develop safe humanistic approaches to crisis intervention.

As a refresher, training you will also develop the following skills: 
• Gain a deeper understanding about why behaviors occur and how to prevent behaviors from occurring.
• Explore appropriate adaptations and interventions that specifically address the needs of and learning styles of people.

AUDIENCE: This refresher training is for currently certified NVCI participants who need a refresher training to up-date their current certification.

WHERE: CESA 8 Office – Aspen Room, 223 West Park Street, Gillett, WI

COST:   $70.00 per person for SNPD member districts 
              $100.00 per person for non-member districts
              Training book, lunch and refreshments are included

CANCELLATION POLICY: Any registration cancellation must be received 7 days prior to the scheduled date to receive a refund or avoid invoicing. CESA 8 will only provide full refund of registration fees depending on individual circumstances. Refunds depend upon the ability of CESA 8 to cancel any financial obligations created by the registration such as meals, materials, etc. Registered participants not in attendance on the day of the session will be charged the full registration fee.
