You’ve adopted the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics. So, what now? Participants of this workshop will gain a deeper understanding of the principles and actions needed to build a strong mathematics program. Practical pedagogical strategies to help move student thinking forward will be investigated through large and small grand-band working sessions focused on establishing mathematical goals, implementing rich tasks that support productive struggle, connecting representations through meaningful discourse, building procedural fluency and conceptual understanding, and eliciting student thinking via purposeful questioning.
