     January 11, 2018: Understanding Features and Characteristics Related to Autism Spectrum Disorders - Zoom Meeting

Zoom meeting will provide participants with a foundational understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorders.  

  • Develop an understanding of the unique features and characteristics associated with autism spectrum disorder.

  • Explore the unique learning/thinking/processing differences associated with autism spectrum disorders.

  • Learn DPI educational eligibility criteria for identifying a child with an autism spectrum disorder.

     

    February 8, 2018: Zones of Regulation - Zoom Meeting

Zoom meeting will provide participants with an understanding of Leah Kuypers Zones of Regulation – A Curriculum Designed to Foster Self-Regulation And Emotional Control. The focus will be concentrated on understanding how to implement a Zones of Regulation curriculum.

  • Develop an understanding of self-regulation as it relates to emotional and sensory processing.

  • Understand the core features of Zones of Regulation.

  • Identify strategies to implement Zones of Regulation with students.

     

    March 19, 2018: Visual Schedules for students with Autism Spectrum Disorders - Zoom Meeting

Zoom meeting will provide participants with an understanding of creating and implementing visual schedules for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder.  Visual schedules support is an evidence-based practice that is a highly successful tool frequently utilized for students with ASD.  

  • Develop an understanding of the evidence-based practice of visual schedules

  • Identify when/where and how to create visual schedules.

     

    April 12, 2018: Understanding Social Skills Strategies for Students with Autism Spectrum Disorders (social maps, cartooning, social narratives) - Zoom Meeting

Zoom meeting will provide participants with an understanding of specific social strategies for students with ASD. Emphasis will be given to strategies of social mapping, comic strip conversations and evidence-based practice of social narratives.

  • Develop a brief understanding of social relation differences in verbal students with ASD.

  • Identify strategies to enhance the development of social skills for verbal students with ASD.
     

Who should attend?

Education and community professionals, administrators, support staff, parents and family members who support children, Pre-Kindergarten - High School, with autism spectrum disorder.

Cost: $200 for all 4 Zoom Meetings, or $60 per each Zoom Meeting.  Participants will join via a zoom video presentation requiring computer and Internet connection.  Upon registration, an email(s) will be sent to registrants with a link to the presentation as well as handouts.

Time:  Zoom Meeting scheduled for 3:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. for each event.

Participants will receive an invite to the Zoom Meeting with instructions prior to meeting date.

Cancellation Policy:

Any registration cancellation must be received at least 8 business days before event in order for a full conference fee refund to be issued (full refunds do not include service fees. Service fees are nonrefundable).Registration cancellations received 1-7 business days before an event, a refund, minus $50 for each participant, will be issued. Persons who are registered, but not in attendance on the day of the session ("no call, no show") will be charged the full registration fee. CESA 6 reserves the right to cancel any session due to insufficient enrollment. Participants will be notified by email if a cancellation occurs.
