K-8 Reading Strategies #1-So, What are Reading Strategies?

Have you wanted to incorporate reading strategies into your classroom routine but have had trouble getting started?  This session will focus on what a reading strategy is and how you can use workshop model in your classroom to influence student success.  We will watch videos and learn different strategies to help improve student comprehension, increase fluency, build reading stamina, and support emergent readers.

Participants can take the Reading Strategies Series (3 dates) in sequence or independent of each other - whatever fits your needs.

Grade levels: 
The session will focus on reading strategies for students in K-8.

Registration fee per date: (Includes continental breakfast and lunch.) 
$100 for CESA 5 School Improvement Members
$160 All Others

Cancellation Policy: Registered participants will receive a full refund if they cancel before 10 working days before an event, minus any material costs that have already been incurred. Because of our commitment to the trainer and the food vendor, participants who cancel less than 10 working days or do not attend, will be billed the full fee. CESA 5 reserves the right to cancel any event. Registered participants will be notified via email if a cancellation occurs and will receive a full refund. Inclement weather policy: Every effort will be made to hold an event. CESA 5 will notify participants via email as soon as possible if an event has been canceled due to weather conditions.
