Inquiry Social Studies Workshop - Kristin Mc Daniel, D.P.I. Social Studies Consultant
Kris McDaniel, WI DPI Social Studies Consultant, is partnering with CESAs across the state to offer one-day workshops on Inquiry in Social Studies. Based off of the summer 2017 Social Studies Bootcamp in Madison, these presentations will provide an opportunity for K-12 classroom teachers to learn about inquiry resources for social studies that already exist, and to work on an inquiry lesson or unit of their own. Tying inquiry to classroom instruction, using Wisconsin's Model Academic Standards for Social Studies, the Essential Questions tied to WMAS/SS, and the Wisconsin Standards for Literacy in All Subjects can create a strong, powerful learning environment for all students.
Lesson Plan Exchange - Participants
This highly popular facet of the Network allows for significant collaborating connections to be made by sharing resources and lessons with your peers from around the CESA and beyond. Plan on taking home items shared by conference attendees. Be sure to bring or email a copy of a lesson or a resource that you would like to share.
Who should attend: Social Studies teachers at the middle and high school level
Cost: FREE for CESA 5 School Improvement Consortium members, $75 for non-members
