The Plunge Workshop is an extremely powerful, full day workshop recommended before or during the early stages of National Board Certification Candidacy. The presentation is divided into four distinctive sections- one for each of the four components required for national board certification.
Why is enrolling in Plunge, crucial? Simply stated, National Board Certification is an unrelentingly arduous process requiring candidates understand precisely what they need to display in their practice and how to correctly write about it. Although candidates are provided ample instructions, the underlying philosophy required to certify, is not overtly given.
Why is this? National Boards believes part of the certification process is investigatory in nature. Plunge is completely committed to assisting candidates explore, cipher and apply this somewhat “hidden” agenda to their practice and certification process. Plunge is the gold standard for educators wanting to deepen their practice and seek this elite certification.
Who Should Attend? Because National Board of Professional Teaching Standards is committed to honoring and improving teacher practice across the nation, Plunge is appropriate for any professional educator whose career impacts the learning of classroom students. This list includes and is not limited to: NBCT candidates; Team teachers wanting to unify their practices; Educational leaders seeking a solid professional development opportunity for teachers; Beginning teachers seeking support; Teacher who are considering national board candidacy.
What are the clear-cut objectives for Plunge? Offer candidates a solid introduction to each of the four components required for certification
- Attendees will engage in strategic activities to uncover the underlying agenda national boards requires for certification; clear discussion of these requirements will follow
- Attendees will be exposed to the complete array of content and pedagogical professional standards, targeted by the nation’s leading educators
