Description

Alton Carter, author of “The Boy Who Carried Bricks” and "Aging Out” joins CESA 6 to share his story to inspire teachers and community members working with youth to do all they can to "change the world".

Alton endured family struggles that fated in poverty, drug and alcohol addiction, overdoses, long prison sentences, domestic abuse, dropping out of school for Alton’s brothers and uncles. But, what made him different?  “I am only different than anyone in my family in the choices I made.”

Join CESA 6 and Alton Carter to hear his message on how to better the lives of young people caught in trying circumstances beyond their control. Alton’s message is clear "The importance and value of hope should never be underestimated.” Alton’s story is ultimately one of perseverance and hope.
