Welcome to the 2017-18 school year. We are looking forward to our Fall Kickoff and learning with you.

As we move from NCLB language “core academic subjects” to ESSA language “well rounded education,” opportunities will be provided to network about ESSA updates, guidance and specific requirements in schoolwide plans related to programming as we work with our students.

We are excited to host a guest speaker, Lynn Verage, for part of our morning to learn about Core + 4. She will spend some time sharing strategies and tools to prevent the sedentary lifestyle so many of our students experience during a school day. Active students tend to have better grades, school attendance, cognitive performance (e.g. memory) and classroom behaviors. CDC recommends 60 minutes of physical activity each day. Learn strategies and help students meet their need of 60 minutes of activity a day to boost their academic performance without disrupting the current school schedule.

Please consider joining us for a full day of professional learning and collaboration to strengthen our Title I programs.

Learning outcomes include:

  • Participants will receive DPI updates pertaining to Title I requirements.
  • Participants will have the opportunity to network with other professionals who support Title I programs.

There is no cost for CESA 10 districts to attend this event.  For anyone outside of CESA 10, the cost is $350 per participant.
