Remediation Plus

The Remediation Plus System is a vital standardized solution that assists teachers to teach research based reading and spelling on a clinically developed comprehensive curriculum (multisensory explicit systematic synthetic phonics). The R+ System teaches the 44 speech sounds in a systematic curriculum. Every lesson has direct instruction in hearing the phoneme, developing the phoneme grapheme correspondence and segmenting the phonemes from speech. This system includes 85 sequential lesson plans - everything a teacher needs to become a powerful remediator–interventionist and a profoundly knowledgeable reading teacher.

Part One: Remediation Plus Intervention System Training

Sept. 20-21, 2017 -- 9:00 AM -3:00 PM

Day 1:  

• A review of the reading research from the NICHD findings from 1995 and the five big ideas from NRP and Orton-Gillingham pedagogy
• A review of the R+ teacher tests  
• Learning the articulation of the 44 speech sounds & 90 grapheme representations  
• Learning the language of the Science of Reading, phonemes, graphemes, fluency training, blending, segmentation, syllables.
•  Review of the lesson plans  

Day 2:

• Review the articulation of the sounds and how to conduct a visual-auditory drill
• A study of the elements of the R+ lesson plan  
• Role playing the lesson plans together all day to develop comfort and mastery
    

Audience: K-5 Educators, K-5 Special Education Educators, any interested educators who have never taken this workshop.

Cost: $200 per participant for CESA 8 – 2017-18 CIA or Literacy Member School Districts for the two-day training + $2100 for the Remediation System $350 for all others + $2100 for Remediation+ System All participants must have their own kit. We will bill your district for it along with your registration fees. 

Cancellations (within 72 hours of workshop) and any no-shows of this workshop will be billed full price.

CESA 8 will only provide full refund of registration fees depending on individual circumstances. Refunds depend upon the ability of CESA 8 to cancel any financial obligations created by the registration such as meals, materials, etc. Registered participants not in attendance on the day of the session will be charged the full registration fee.
