Lester Laminack will make visible the mutually supportive roles of reading and writing through the idea of “flipsides;” how a reader’s insights can be turned around to provide insights into his own writing, and vice versa.  Discover fresh new ways to turn reading strategies into writing opportunities that your students will be excited about and deeply understand. Based upon Lester's book, Writers ARE Readers: Flipping Reading Instruction Into Writing Opportunities.

The Ultimate Read – Aloud Resource: Making Every Moment Intentional and Instructional With Best Friend Books
Lester will share guidelines, lessons, and resources that will be sure to make every read-aloud experience intentional and instructional. Central to his message is the value and importance of “Best Friend Books” – a small, carefully-curated collection used repeatedly for specific teaching purposes.

Lester Laminack is Professor Emeritus of Elementary and Middle Grades Education at Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, North Carolina. He is an award-winning author of children’s books and professional publications, as well as an acclaimed educator and consultant, working with teachers in schools throughout the United States.
