Don Johnston company has been a leader in developing software and supports for students with challenges in reading and writing. This workshop is going to be a combination of hands-on and demonstration of the supports available for students with low scores in those areas. Participants will receive a brief overview of AIM (Accessible Instructional Materials), Bookshare and how to convert &/or use Bookshare books on a variety of devices including mobile devices, hands-on activities with mobile e-reader, the Intel Reader and overviews of software (Draft Builder, Co:Writer, Write: OutLoud) that support reading and writing gains. Participants will receive the following professional resources Don Johnston "Train in 30" manuals for providing quick professional development to fellow staff. "Developing Your Assistive Technology Leadership: Best Practices for Success" by Reeder, Temple, Carr, Fleming & Tracy.

Cancellation Policy: Registered participants will receive a full refund if they cancel before 10 working days before an event, minus any material costs that have already been incurred. Because of our commitment to the trainer and the food vendor, participants who cancel less than 10 working days or do not attend, will be billed the full fee. CESA 5 reserves the right to cancel any event. Registered participants will be notified via email if a cancellation occurs and will receive a full refund. Inclement weather policy: Every effort will be made to hold an event. CESA 5 will notify participants via email as soon as possible if an event has been canceled due to weather conditions.
