Description

Districts throughout the region have partnered to form a network of innovative educators, schools and districts. By collaborating, educators are able to learn from and with each other as engineers of the future of public education in CESA 6. This symposium is a practicioner’s confernce, creating an opportunity for educators to gain practical skills they can immediately implement in the classroom. The symposium is a great opportunity to learn from your colleagues, and share your experiences, ideas and success stories.

Symposium Strands

Breakout sessions will offer topics for educators at all levels to grow professionally and personally:

Student Learning Experiences: Innovative instrucation models or practices that engage learners and deepens learning.

Sample topics might include personalized learning plans, project-. problem- passion-based learning, personalized learning, inquiry-based learning, competency-based learning, blended learning, Makerspace, etc...

Structures to Support Learning: new structures to support student learning and develop authentic learning opportunities.

Sample topics might include community engagement, flexible learning spaces, community partnerships, work-based learning initiatives, regional collaboration, collaborative professional development, wraparound services, etc...

Assessment Practices: use of assessment of learning, for learning and as learning. 

Sample topics might include student portfolios, PBL, credit for non-classroom learning, alternatives to Carnegie units, international benchmarking, student-tracking of learning and growth, etc...

Business Model: parternships and strategies to make our school dollars stretch farther.

Sample topics might include cooperative purchasing, district collaboration, community partnerships, middle college, university/technical college partnerships, business partnerships, insurance co-ops, in-district health clinics, etc...

K-12 regular education and special education teachers, principals, superintendents, school board members

Cancellation Policy:

Any registration cancellation must be received at least 8 business days before event in order for a full conference fee refund to be issued (full refunds do not include service fees. Service fees are nonrefundable).Registration cancellations received 1-7 business days before an event, a refund, minus $50 for each participant, will be issued. Persons who are registered, but not in attendance on the day of the session ("no call, no show") will be charged the full registration fee. CESA 6 reserves the right to cancel any session due to insufficient enrollment. Participants will be notified by email if a cancellation occurs.
