Description
The presenter of last year's session "Identifying a Language Difference versus Disorder in ELL Students" is pleased to return to discuss "Bilingual Evaluations for Monolingual Evaluators". The session will focus on preparing monolingual English speakers to conduct thorough, reliable, and non-biased evaluations of bilingual students.

Workshop objectives

Ø Identify red flags for language disorders in the ELL population. 

Ø Document the need for a bilingual evaluation.

Ø Identify appropriate formal and informal assessment measures for bilingual students, 

Ø Work most efficiently with interpreters.

Ø Differentiate how you write bilingual, versus monolingual, evaluation reports.

Registration fee:

Ö $75 per participant for CESA 6 Title III Consortium members

Ö $180 per participant for Non-Consortium Members 

Ö Fee includes materials, continental breakfast and lunch

Cancellation Policy:

Any registration cancellation must be received at least 8 business days before event in order for a full conference fee refund to be issued (full refunds do not include service fees. Service fees are nonrefundable).Registration cancellations received 1-7 business days before an event, a refund, minus $50 for each participant, will be issued. Persons who are registered, but not in attendance on the day of the session ("no call, no show") will be charged the full registration fee. CESA 6 reserves the right to cancel any session due to insufficient enrollment. Participants will be notified by email if a cancellation occurs.
