PLEASE JOIN US TO BECOME QUALIFIED TO REVIEW PDPs!

PI-34 requires that each initial educator’s Professional Development Plan (PDP) goal must be approved by a trained PDP reviewer. To be a DPI approved PDP team member on an Initial or Professional Educator's team, you need to complete DPI-sponsored training. The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction and CESA #5’s License Renewal and Support Center invites Teachers, Administrators, Pupil Services Personnel and higher education representatives to participate in this training to serve as a certified PDP reviewer.

Since initial and professional educators seeking PDP goal verification for license renewal must have a team of trained PDP reviewers, it is recommended each school district maintain DPI-trained PDP reviewers to assist with PDP goal approvals and PDP goal verifications in each of the licensee categories—teachers, administrators, pupil services. School districts who are members of the CESA 5 PI-34 consortium receive PDP goal approvals and/or PDP verifications as a service through the CESA 5 PI-34 consortium.

Who should attend: Mentors of initial educators, Administrators, and Pupil Services Staff. There is a particular high need for pupil services (counselors, psychologists, nurses). It is also strongly recommended that staff who are adjunct professors receive training to review PDPs as IHE representatives. Though initial educators may not review PDPs, the training provides an opportunity for initial educators to learn the PDP process in detail.

What will be expected of me as a PDP reviewer? At the conclusion of the training, participants’ names will be included in the DPI database and listed on the DPI website as a trained PDP reviewer for the appropriate licensure category.

Costs: There is no fee. The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction will provide substitute reimbursement to teachers who attend the training. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. The workshop is limited to 35 participants. Therefore, cancellations within 3 business days and no shows will be charged a $35 fee to cover the cost of breakfast, lunch and materials.

Pre-Workshop: The training has two components. The first is an on-line PI 34 PDP Module (http://www.uwex.edu/ics/PI34/) which includes a self-assessment. Upon completing this module, you will be asked to print a verification certificate to bring to the on-site training. The second component is registration and participation in a one-day DPI-sponsored PDP Team Training hosted by the CESA 5 License Renewal Support Centers.

Cancellation Policy: Registered participants will receive a full refund if they cancel before 10 working days before an event, minus any material costs that have already been incurred. Because of our commitment to the trainer and the food vendor, participants who cancel less than 10 working days or do not attend, will be billed the full fee. CESA 5 reserves the right to cancel any event. Registered participants will be notified via email if a cancellation occurs and will receive a full refund. Inclement weather policy: Every effort will be made to hold an event. CESA 5 will notify participants via email as soon as possible if an event has been canceled due to weather conditions.
