This half-day workshop is designed to help educators understand and support the edTPA (teacher performance assessment) that is now required of undergraduates seeking certification/licensure as a Wisconsin teacher.  The interactive session will provide participants with background information on the edTPA as well as a first-hand look at the process that teacher candidates experience and at the data from initial implementation.  Additionally, participants will explore strategies to support prospective teaching candidates and new hires throughout the process to attract and retain high quality teachers and to support a more seamless transition from pre-service to induction/mentoring to educator effectiveness.
