About the workshop:
Each teacher may bring up to four students to participate in the LEGO Challenge. (Please list student names in the notes section upon registering). Students will take a pre-task survey to self-assess skills in engineering, creativity, and problem-solving. Student teams will create, design, and program a robot using the LEGO MindStorms EV3 kits to complete a specific task. Teachers fill complete anecdotal observation forms to assess students while working on the task. The event is funded through the 2016-2017 Gifted and Talented grant. Per grant requirements, a minimum of 25% of the student participants on a team must be from an under-represented group. This challenge is ideal for students in grades 4 through 10. Three lucky teams will take an EV3 Mindstorm kit back to their schools with them!
Free to student/teacher teams from schools within the MVGT Network (see list below); $50 per team for non-MVGT Schools. Pricing for schools outside of network will be adjusted prior to event.
Snacks and lunch provided.
Four students may attend with every one teacher that registers. Max of 75 people.

Participant Cancellation Policy:
You must contact CESA 4 to cancel attendance one week prior to the scheduled event unless otherwise stated in the individual event details. CESA 4 will only provide full refund of registration fees depending on individual circumstances. Refunds depend upon the ability of CESA 4 to cancel any financial obligations created by the registration such as meals, materials, etc. CESA 4 reserves the right to cancel any workshop due to insufficient enrollment. Participants will be notified by e-mail or phone if a workshop is cancelled. If a participant is a 'no show' the school will be billed for the registration fee, or loss of the 'free' attendance slot.
Dietary Restrictions:
Because of the number of meals served, number of ingredients used, and food product changes from vendors, we cannot guarantee dietary restrictions as indicated in a user's myQuickReg profile will be accommodated. Participants with dietary restrictions such as food allergies should plan to bring their own refreshments.
Weather Conditions:
If a workshop has been cancelled due to weather conditions, every effort will be made to reschedule the workshop. If weather conditions are questionable, please call CESA 4 Voice Mail at (608) 786-4800; Toll Free (800) 514-3075. A message will be posted regarding workshop weather cancellations.
Additional Accommodations:
