This workshop is the full training in teaching of Engineering is Elementary Units. This training will give an overview of the EiE program, define technology and be highly engaging in the engineering process as defined by EiE.
The unit featured in this training will be A Long Way Down: Designing Parachutes. All other units will be available for review at this workshop as well.
About the Facilitator
David Bergerson has been teaching in the Wisconsin Rapids Public School District for 19 years and has served as the District K-12 Science Coordinator since 2001. Dave has a Master's degree in science education from UW-River Falls and his bachelor's from UW-Eau Claire.
Dave has run numerous workshops in Wisconsin Rapids related to science teaching and curriculum. He has overseen two phases of science curriculum revision for K-12, the most recent being the adoption and implementation of the NGSS.
Dave has done numerous trainings related to science curriculum writing and the NGSS. He is a certified trainer for the Engineering is Elementary Program and oversaw the implementation of EiEin grades K-5 in WRPS.
Dave has also received the Kohl Fellowship and the WSST Distinguished Educator Award.
