The CESA 5 License Renewal and Support Center supports educators who are using the PDP as a tool for their license renewal. At this workshop you will have the opportunity to learn about the PDP process and how to use the PDP on-line tool to write your PDP. It is a proven fact that educators who take the CESA 5 PDP writing workshop have a higher percentage of PDPs approved with the first review! The day will begin with approximately an hour-long presentation to demonstrate the PDP process and how to complete your PDP. The rest of the time will be spent composing your PDP and receiving one-on-one support. To make the most of this “hands on” session, participants should bring a laptop computer with word processing capabilities and wireless Internet access.
Who should attend:
• If you are a professional educator (administrator, teacher, or pupil services) who received your teaching license prior to August 31, 2004, you may take six credits every five years or you can use the Professional Development Plan (PDP) tool provided by DPI to renew your license. Professional Educators are encouraged to take advantage of the PDP as an option for license and attend this full-day workshop. We'll show you how to align your SLO to your PDP goal.
• If you are an initial educator (administrator, teacher, and pupil service staff) or a professional educator licensed in a new category after August 31, 2004, you are required to complete a PDP for license renewal. You will document your professional growth and student learning by using thePDP tool to renew your license.
**The Writing a High Quality PDP Workshop is tailored to meet the needs of all individuals who are writing a PDP. Therefore, any educator interested in receiving PDP support from goal approval to PDP verification is welcome to attend.
CESA 5 will help participants select their PDP team for goal approval and PDP verification.
